Provider Overrides

ShareBase can override the domain-provider mapping for specific ShareBase user accounts. For example, specific user accounts can be authenticated using local authentication, while others can be authenticated using the external provider mapped to their domain.

A user account can be configured to use any of the following authentication methods:

Provider

Description

External Provider

Maps an email address to a specific external provider defined for your deployment.

Local

Uses local ShareBase authentication for the account associated with the email address. No external providers are used.

Prompt

Prompts the user associated with the email address to either provide a local password or sign in using one of the external providers defined for the deployment.

If some user accounts need to override the external provider mapped to their domain, provide the following information for each account:

  • The email address for the ShareBase user account

  • The provider or authentication method to use with the specified email address
