Local Users

Users can be managed using a combination of external and local authentication in a single ShareBase deployment. Although local users do not exist within the external system, they can belong to ShareBase user groups that are mapped to external groups. This membership will not be synced back to the external system. Local users can also belong to ShareBase user groups that are maintained locally in ShareBase.

Users who are managed using an external system can only belong to ShareBase user groups that are mapped to external groups. If an external user belongs to a locally managed ShareBase user group, the user will be removed from the local user group upon logging in to ShareBase. Similarly, if an external user belongs to a ShareBase user group that is mapped to an external group, but the user does not belong to the mapped group in the external system, then the user will be removed from the ShareBase user group upon logging in.
