New Users

When a user who does not exist in ShareBase logs in using external authentication, the following events occur:

  • The user is created in ShareBase.

  • The new ShareBase user is assigned an email address and display name based on the claims from the external system.

  • The new ShareBase user is added to ShareBase user groups based on the claims from the external system. If the user is a member of an external group that does not match an existing ShareBase user group, then a new user group is created in ShareBase, and the user is assigned to it.

Note:

AD FS allows administrators to deny users access to ShareBase based on incoming claims. For more information, see Limiting ShareBase Access to Specific User Groups in AD FS.
