Disabling Passwords

Disable a user's password to force the user to perform a password reset. A user with a disabled password cannot log on to ShareBase until the user has performed the password reset and authenticated with the new password.

Note:

In deployments configured for single sign-on, the option to disable a password is available only for user accounts that can be authenticated using local ShareBase authentication.

To disable a user's password:

  1. In ShareBase Administration, click Users.
    The Users view is displayed.
  2. Select the user account.
  3. Under User Settings, click the Disable Password button.
A confirmation message indicates the user's password has been disabled.
